Dr. Nel

Dr. Willem Nel earned his medical degree at the University of Pretoria. He went on to the University of South Florida to complete his residency in Anesthesiology. He then completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine. Currently, he is double board certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology.

In addition to specializing in pain, Dr. Nel has held the titles of Assistant Professor and Staff Anesthesiologist, Director of Pain Management Services, and Clinical Faculty at the University of South Florida. After working with the University of South Florida, Dr. Nel became the Director of Pain Services at Gulf to Bay Anesthesiology Associates.

Over the course of Dr. Nel’s career, he has helped train Fellows, Residents, Medical Students, and CRNAs. He has a passion for helping others and has chosen to spend the rest of his career focusing on improving patients quality of life.
