Clearwater Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Treatment
What is Carpal Tunnel Release?
Carpal tunnel release is a quick procedure to relieve numbness and tingling in the thumb, index and middle finger. Carpal tunnel syndrome is pain and weakness in the hand that is caused by pressure on the median nerve in the wrist. During a carpal tunnel release procedure, the transverse carpal ligament is cut near the base of the palm, which releases the pressure on the median nerve. This can be performed endoscopically (with a camera) or with a small open incision. The carpal tunnel release procedure relieves pain and helps to prevent future nerve damage.
