What is Workers’ Compensation?
In Florida, most employers are required by law to carry workers’ compensation. This is an insurance plan that covers injuries, diseases, and impairments that are directly related to someone’s job. For instance, if you have chronic back pain and lift heavy objects regularly at your job, your medical treatment will most likely qualify for workers’ compensation.
Florida is a no-fault workers’ comp system. This means that you do not need to prove that the injury was someone else’s fault. So long as the injury is related to your work, you will probably be eligible for benefits. Furthermore, you do not need to take legal action to obtain workers’ comp. These are insurance plans, so your company’s provider is obligated to provide benefits. However, sometimes employers or the insurance company will unfairly deny the benefits you deserve, in which case you may need to take legal action.
At CSI, we take detailed notes of a patient’s treatments. We have worked with many workers’ comp insurance providers and know-how to clearly describe the care our patient’s received so that they can receive the benefits they are entitled to.
